Who gives a hoot?

Meet my new friend Hoot. I wish I had paid attention to the direction of the pattern on the fabric. (This was pretty much the first thing noted on the pattern.) Oh well. I like him, even if his trees are sideways.
Fun little pattern from the Daisy Quilts blog. Robyn will have the pattern for sale in her Etsy shop soon.

In sad news, my TV broke today. The bulb burned out. Evidently this happens, even though the TV is less than 2 years old. (Really, Sony?) When I got home from work today, I was forced to clean my house and do laundry to pass the time. Very distressing.

My biggest concern is that I won't be able to rekindle my summer romance with Big Brother tomorrow night. What am I going to do? GASP! Maybe this is the year I can justify subscribing to the live 24/7 internet feed! I wonder how my boss will feel about that...

Hoot is adorable! I love that fabric.

Do you have a Sony Bravia? That's what we have... Is it cost-effective to get it fixed? It's upsetting that it's not that old.

I do have a Sony Bravia. Justin has been doing some research, and it looks like the bulbs cost between $100 (from potentially sketchy online shops) to $250 (from reputable stores). It looks like he'll be able to replace it himself pretty easily. He also found out that the bulb in our type of TV is expected to last between 6 months and 2 years.

Katie I love your version and i think he looks fine...so adorable and it's fun seeing everyone's versions of Hoot.
Thanks for sharing (again) :c)

I hope you got your tele fixed soon.

He's awesome, but I have to admit his eyes creep me out a little...

That's a lot of money to spend over the life of the TV. I had no idea when we bought our flat screen.

There is definitely something about the eyes, Nat. Me thinks Hoot has a dark side...

I don't care that his trees his sideways, they look more like feathers that way! I love that new line but I like the pink trees better.

I wish I had read this earlier; I could have helped you out on a loaner for watching big brother. Let me know if you are still burnt out:)
