This weekend I made good progress on my quilt-alongs.
Still loving Bottled Rainbows. I got all of my prep work done. The blocks are basted and ready to go when I get the itch to work on them. I finished up two yesterday:
Sunshine! I had more yellow scraps than expected. Love this one.
Emerald! This solid is a perfect match for Sanctuary, so I used lots of my scraps here. My favorite so far.
I started piecing my Supernova quilt too. I'm using Central Park for this one. Here's the rough layout for my blocks:
And here are the two units I've started piecing.
I was prepared to be confused when I put these together, but Lee's instructions are extremely clear and precise. It's actually pretty simple.
Side note: I've been using the Harbor Freight blades in my rotary cutter for about a month. They seem to cut well, but they're kind of hard on my cutting mat. Anyone else experience this?

i tried to purchase some blades this weekend and they were OUT! seriously OUT! none in the warehouse and none in the store. peeved, i came home to order some online and they were out of stock online also... i don't know if i will ever get some. ;)
Love the blocks! Yeah, I tried out the harbor freight blades this week. I used it for like 3 cuts and took it out and threw it away. It wouldn't roll well, it didn't cut my fabric well, and I plain ol' didn't like it! Too bad...would have been so nice to have a cheaper option!
Swoon! I adore your Supernova blocks!!! Your quilt is going to be so gorgeous!!!! I love your Bottled Rainbows too - I'm in the same boat you are, with all of them basted and ready to go when I feel the urge. I love your yellow block, it's so happy!
Love your bottled rainbows. I'm seriously enjoying that quilt along and I'm not even participating! It's just so nice to see all the fun colors. LOVE your supernova, can't wait to see it all come together.
Love the Bottled Rainbows, Katie! So bright and cheery.
I basted a bunch this weekend, too!
Your Supernova quilt is going to be beautiful - LOVE your fabric choices.
Wow! Such beautiful blocks!
Your blocks look great! I'm so glad you found my instructions easy to follow! In fact, you just made my day. : )
I love LOVE your Supernova blocks! And I agree with Becky about the Bottled Rainbows QAL - I'm vicariously enjoying all the gorgeous blocks including yours!
I love your rainbow squares! Just gorgeous. I'm doing mine at a snail's pace, but I think it's the only way I'll keep at it. :P
