Mmm. Chocolaty goodness.

My friend Marilyn's birthday was this week, and I made this Mississippi Mud Cake for her. Sadly, Marilyn and her little boy have been sick this week, so she hasn't been at work. So we went ahead and ate the cake without her. (Okay, when I put that in writing it sounds really bad. Sorry, Marilyn!) Anyway, the cake was delicious (lots of chocolate, plus marshmallows and nuts). I'm not much of a baker, but it came together pretty easily.

If I was Marilyn I would be feeling really sorry for myself right now. You should make another one for her when she gets back.

Happy Birthday, Marilyn. Your cake looks delicious.

Did you guys have a party at work without her? Bummer for Marilyn. Woo Hoo! for everyone else.
Aunt Mary... that's what I was going to say.

Well, we had a Grammar Day Party. Because we're nerdy. I think there will be an appropriate cakefest when Marilyn returns.

Doh! I had almost forgotten that this took place without me. Now that I'm home and catching up on my backlog of blog posts, I am feeling sorry for myself again. Who needs the extra calories anyway? Sigh. --Marilyn
