I {finally} finished reading John Irving's latest novel, Last Night in Twisted River. It's a long, epic type of book that caused me to rack up some serious overdue fees at the library. But it's a beautifully written story about a family's reaction to a tragic accident. The old logger Ketchum is one of the most interesting characters I've come across in a while. I really hate to say anything more about the plot because I don't want to spoil it!

I'd definitely recommend this book, but I might save it for after the holidays. It's definitely not a quick read! If you've read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I don't know if I'm into "long epic" books right now...I might have to pass.

I'm a bit too overwhelmed with Christmas preparations to read anything at all. But I do like John Irving. I have several of his books sitting on my shelf that I haven't read.

I just got started on it - from the library - haven't got into it yet. I'll let you know.

I thought.....wow, Katie, between your sewing and knitting and everything else you do, you had time to read a whole book last night?

then I saw the punctuation.

I love John Irving and will definitely put this one on my after the holidays list.
