I'm loving the simplicity and serene color palette of this one.
My friend Ashley asked me to make a gender-neutral baby quilt for a friend, and she picked out the gorgeous hand-printed fabrics from
Maze and Vale.
We added in some coordinating Kona solids: Butter, Mustard, Ice Frappe, Sage, and Ash. The quilting is simple too--just straight lines along the seams.
Ashley wanted a modern and simple design, and I wanted to maximize the hand-printed fabrics, so we decided on rectangles. I think they ended up measuring something weird like 4.5x13.25 (just so I could get as much as possible out of the fabrics).
I found this fun random dresser at work...you might see it pop up as a prop in future posts.

I thought I recognized a work back drop. I really like how this turned out - and damn you are fast at hand binding!!! Looks great Katie.
It's lovely - what a great way of using those beautiful fabrics.
Love! Great use of those gorgeous fabrics and the solids are perfect. It makes me happy just looking at it. Perfect for a new baby!! : )
It's lovely Katie. The fabrics are gorgeous.
oh this turned out really nice - delightful soothing palette and a simple but effective pattern. Nice.
happy, happy, joy, joy, quilt quilt. I want that dresser too.
It's perfect!!
I love this so much! The rectangles and the colors are really together!
I agree with you, I love the simplicity of this and I know that little baby will too!
Love the colors here, and super cute fabrics!
How many rows are in this quilt & what is the finished size? I absolutely love it & it looks straight forward enough I might attempt it as my first quilt!
Hey, Meghan! Your email address isn't linked to your profile, so I'm going to reply here. The quilt has 13 rows and 3 columns. I made each block 4.5x13.25, only because I was trying to make the most out of some odd size fabric. You could change the size to make any size blocks you'd like. This quilt finished at about 40x50, so it's a baby quilt. But if you'd like to make it larger, you could just add more blocks!
I love this one so much, Katie! Those Maze and Vale prints are awesome and you picked such great colors to complement them! Very cool, modern baby quilt. I bet you have a lot of fun props at work, too!
Hi, Katie. Very cool baby quilt--the fabrics are wonderful and the design is simple yet effective. The chest is cool, too!

Hi Katie,
New reader here! Just wanted to say this quilt is absolutely beautiful. It is probably my favourite I have found on Pinterest to date! It's inspired me to try sewing my own. Have a great day!
Hi there, LOVE this baby quilt. I'm thinking of making it for my son. Just wondering, how many fabrics did you use and approx how many time did you use each? Thanks so much!!!
