Jack & Jill in Central Park: Dunzo!

Feel like I've been working on these forever! I made these quilts for my friend. She wanted twin-size bed quilts for her son and daughter. We decided on Central Park fabric and the Lemon Squares (free!) pattern from Faith of Fresh Lemons.
Central Park Twins. Done!
Central Park was the perfect choice for this project because it has great boy/girl options.

Central park twins binding
I added a cobblestone border on both quilts and used Kona Zucchini as the binding.

Central Park girl med
We went with the purple/pink/green fabrics for the girl version...

Central Park Boy med
and green/blue/stone for the boy.

Central Park girl quilting
The girl version got loopy quilting.

Central Park Boy quilting
And the boy version got an all-over meandering stipple.

Central Park boy close
I was able to do some fussy cutting with the animals...

and trees.

Central Park Twins folded backs
The backs are Kona Bahama Blue and Kona Violet. (Pretend these aren't upside down.)

Ready to head to their new home!

  17. I can see that you have 7 squares wide, how many do you have for the height of the blanket? I am going to used this pattern for my kids' room. They are getting bunk beds for Christmas and I want to make them a quilt using this design for their twin size bunk beds.

It wouldn't let me use my google account to leave a comment so I'm doing so anonymously. My name is Amber and I would love to hear from you soon, so I can start quilting!!

  18. Hey, Amber! They're 7 x 9 blocks, and then I added a border (3 inches or so?) to make them twin size. I hope this helps! You can email me directly if you have other questions. kldemare at yahoo dot com
